Abstraction of Love.

Luis Crompton in preface of his gloomy gay history masterpiece: "Homosexuality and Civilization" writes: "Whatever the vocabulary, two elements are present- the sexual fact and the possibility of human love and devotion. for many centuries in Europe, homosexuality was conceived principally as certain sexual acts. This is because it was viewed theologically and in the light of the legal system this theology spawned- that is, as a sin and a capital crime." I think most of straight (and unfortunately even gay people) equalize homosexuality with sodomy. The great (and FACT based!) comments in Radio Hambasteghi Program about gay Iranians (MP3)(Thanks to PGLO) about how we can cure homosexuality with controlling our anal muscles! and electrotherapy, have their roots in this dehumanisation of homosexuality and more general than that sex. I start to feel really sorry for these people and their wives. It seems our problem is not lack of familiarity with sexual techniques, it's lack of understanding what is love and what is the difference between pure sex and a sexual act that roots in love. Sex cannot be the ultimate feeling of beauty unless love accompanies it. Sex isn't just relieving a pressure, in most cases it's not even a pleasure that one seeks for himself, but it's making pleasure in your partner. That’s why they call it "Making Love". And in most cases sex is not the main issue at all. I don't know how to describe it but love is something completely different. Listening to that program, I became more convinced that it's not problem of our government that they persecute and execute gays. This lack of understanding lies in roots of our society. That's why I don't think life of gay Iraqis is better after America attacked Iraq. Their (and our) main problem is our fathers, mothers, families and friends and being a sodomite from their point of view.

... And after reading how thousand of gay men and boys were killed during history of our civilization I am in a really bad mood. I agree with Andrew Holleran: "if you tend to view the human race as a bunch of murderous, paranoid, bullying baboons, Homosexuality & Civilization will not dissuade you."
