Happy Mother's Day.
When I was a kid Iranian TV loved to broadcast Japanese cartoons. In most of these cartoons, either a kid was searching for his lost mother, or already knew that his/her mother is dead and was in a very depressing mood. So I think kids of my generation felt a little weird about their mothers. Twenty years later I saw another kind of mother in TV. Debbie Novotny. Meg Allen describes Debbie this way: "Debbie Novotny is a bit like every mom. She's certainly a lot like mine. Strong, bigger than life, and never afraid to speak her mind, even when she knows she's wrong". But how much it's important that our parents (specially moms) understand us. Today is mother's day. In one of my past posts I described my mixed feeling toward mothers. I think they are so brave and really bigger than life. No matter how much sometimes they make us crazy with their love, with their feeling that our life belong to them, they are always our best friend. The only friend who is ready to sacrifice everything for us. In an interview Sharon Gless described how when gay kids see her in the street, they just approach, take her in their arms and cry on her shoulders. Maybe one of deepest desires of many of us, is to somehow be brave enough to tell her everything and cry on her shoulders. I think everyday is mother's day. They are such an amazing things.
